Mainamati
Mainamati is located only 8 km away from Comilla town. There lie innumerable archeological relics of the 8th century. On the north-south of Mainamati there lies Lohitogiri, that is, the red-soil hill of the ancient period, and this red-soil hill is about 18 km long and about 2 km wide. That place was named after the name Mainamati the queen of King Manikyo Chandra of the Deva dynasty in the tenth century.
