War Cemetery of the World War II
The burial ground of the soldiers who were killed in the South Asian Region in World War II is located at Mehedibagh of the town. At the entrance gate, there are inscriptions about the identity of the soldiers and sailors who died in the war of this region. In the burial ground, 755 graves are arranged in a row and each of the graves has a small nameplate on which the name of the person killed, designation, age, date of being killed, and other information are written down. In the burial ground of 7 acres of land, 375 persons of the United Kingdom, 25 persons of Canada, 9 persons of Australia, 2 persons of New Zealand, 214 persons of the then Indian subcontinent, 101 persons of Africa, 2 persons of the then Burma (Myanmar), 1 person of the Netherlands and 19 persons of Japan are buried there. A good number of tourists from home and abroad visit the War Cemetery daily. For the tourists, the War Cemetery remains open every day, from 8: oo A.M to 12: oo noon, and again from 2: oo P.M to 5: oo P.M, other than the government holidays.
